Why we only buy washable markers

This week I decided to let the girls do a little decorating for Valentines Day. I cut out a bunch of hearts out of colored paper and we decorated them with markers and stickers and then hung them up around the house. Brinley is good for about 15 minutes of this activity and then I am usually left doing the rest of them (someday I will learn not to cut so many out in the first place). This year Chels is old enough to participate, and she was ready, she inserted herself right in the middle of the action. She did good coloring with some crayons and I would give her some stickers to put on her hearts. She was doing great until she realized there were these fancy things that mom and Brin were using--not her. She wanted markers. No big deal, I gave her a marker and showed her how to color with that. Well, markers are amazing! Look at what they do to the paper! Look at what they do to the drawing tray! Look at what they do to my FEET!...Yeah, she drew all over herself. She drew all over the drawing tray and then proceeded to crawl/climb/stand all over it so she had a yellow bottom and knees as well. She looked so beautiful, I considered putting tape on her and sticking her to the wall.
